Reading – Reading books will be sent home as soon as children are ready for a reading book. Books will need to be read three times:

  • Read 1: to allow your child to decode the book, they should be able to do this independently.
  • Read 2: to increase the fluency with which your child reads the book.
  • Read 3: to develop your child’s comprehension of the story.

A book will be given out on a Monday. They should be returned the following Monday.

PE

Children need to come to school wearing their PE kit on the days that they have PE.  By this we mean they should wear plain dark coloured shorts/trousers/leggings, with their school PE tops and their school jumper. They should also wear trainers and no jewellery (including earrings) on these days.  Our regular PE days are Monday and Thursday.

These are some of the things we will be learning in Reception.

These are what children need to achieve at the end of Reception to be 'expected'. These are the goals we will be working towards during the year.
