At St Lawrence CE Primary School we value every child and we aim to ensure that each child can flourish in all areas of their development by meeting the needs of each individual child and supporting them to reach their potential. We do this by offering a wide and balanced curriculum, which is differentiated to meet individual needs, so that all children can learn and make good progress. We make sure that all children have equal access to opportunities, resources and interventions to support their learning and that all children are assessed using the appropriate tools and guidelines based on their individual needs.
All teachers are teachers of children with SEND and as such provide quality first teaching, which takes into account the individual needs of each child within the class. Special educational provision is education that is additional to or different from that generally offered for others of the same age. It may take the form of additional support from within the school, require involvement of specialist staff or external support services depending on the need of the child. All class teachers work closely with the SENCO, support staff and parents to ensure appropriate provisions are made for all children. Our teaching and support staff are highly experienced in delivering SEN support and intervention.
