On Monday 5th February, the children of St Lawrence CE Primary School dressed up in clothes with digits or dice dots on to raise money for the NSPCC's Number Day. For the whole day, the staff and pupils explored how numbers are all around us and used in so many things that we do. The children carried out activities that supported their understanding of what numbers are and how their learning can explore deeper into the knowledge of what those numbers mean and how they are built up.
Mrs Howard, who co-ordinated the event, said that “From number ordering to logical problem solving, all the children were very engaged and enthused by the day. The children made donations to come to school in clothing with digits or dice dots on and raised £210 for this deserving charity. A great day was had by all”
